Every performance claim on this website is backed by independent laboratory testing and third-party certification. This page is your reference library for fire test reports, acoustic data, thermal documentation, and environmental product declarations.
The insulation market contains many products with unverified performance claims. ROCKWOOL's policy is that every performance number presented to specifiers corresponds to an independently conducted test with a documented test report. We maintain these reports and make them available upon request.
Non-combustible classification — highest rating under European fire classification standard. Tested to EN ISO 1182 and EN ISO 1716. Applies to all ROCKWOOL stone wool products.
North American non-combustibility standard. Specimens tested at 750°C for 30 minutes with no ignition, flaming, or significant temperature rise. All core stone wool products comply.
Structural steel fire protection testing. ROCKWOOL FirePro products tested with column and beam specimens at 1, 2, 3, and 4 hour intervals. Test reports available for download by registered specifiers.
Absorption test conducted in a reverberation room per ASTM C423. ROCKWOOL SAFE'N'SOUND achieved NRC 1.05 — meaning the product absorbs more sound energy than a theoretical perfect absorber at mid-frequencies, due to edge diffraction effects.
Wall assembly STC testing conducted with ROCKWOOL SAFE'N'SOUND in 2×4 wood frame, 5/8" drywall both sides. System STC 52 documented in published test report. Single assembly or complete wall system reports available.
Heat Flow Meter (HFM) apparatus test confirming R-value for all thickness variants. COMFORTBATT R-23 tested at 5.5" nominal thickness, mean temperature 75°F. Thermal conductivity λ = 0.036 W/(m·K) for COMFORTBOARD 80.
European Certification Board for Mineral Wool Products verifies that all ROCKWOOL stone wool fibers meet WHO biosolubility thresholds and are classified as non-carcinogenic under EU Directive 97/69/EC Note Q exemption.
ISO 14025 and EN 15804 compliant EPDs published for primary product lines by Environdec programme operator. Global Warming Potential (GWP) documented in kg CO₂-eq per functional unit. EPDs enable LEED v4 credit MR4.
All major ROCKWOOL manufacturing facilities are certified under ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems, audited annually by Bureau Veritas and SGS with published environmental targets.
Complete test reports with certificate numbers and laboratory accreditation details are available for download by registered specifiers. Registration is free.
